Truth, A Grand Central Purpose Of Discussion

The purpose of this discussion is the study of GOD. There are some areas that we will not be discussing. We are not becoming mired in the discussion of “is there or is there not” a GOD. We would have this discussion if we were talking philosophy, which we are not. As tempting as it might b to take on the different flavors of religion, and then possibly where religion gets it wrong. From this we shall refrain, because in our study of GOD the philosophical is but a rabbit hole.

Neither are we going to have a comparison, one religion to another. Again, this is just a rabbit hole, going all over but serving no useful purpose. In both of the statements we understand that Atheism, is one of the religions we are not discussing. In all of the above notations we have some presuppositions. We presuppose cretin things because presuppositions allow for a narrowing of the discussion at hand.

This discussion is not about religion, the Latin word for realign, because religion requires faith. Faith is not the topic of this blog; the study of GOD is the topic, and not any particular GOD. Every culture has, or has had, its own GOD. Discussions of primitive peoples, and what beliefs they held, is to miss our point. So does the idea of myth systems, both in general and in the specific narrow view. The idea of what others in the pre modern, modern, and postmodern age believed goes in the wrong direction altogether.

What we are after is truth. Not the truth as others, or even ourselves, wish it to be, but truth as it actually is, the raw, unadorned, non-varnished, truth. While, in our quest for truth, we will be using the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, this blog is neither an endorsement nor a refutation of the same.

Truth then, is what we are after, not what God is or is not and, definitely not what I believe is truth or a lie.
